Plug Bases

Plug bases are a power point without the isolation switch connected. These are used for mounting TVs on walls where the power plugs in within the wall. Exhaust fans in toilets and bathrooms are also stocked with a plug top on them for easy change-over.

When do we use plug bases instead of usual power points?
At the back of a power point, all wiring and terminals are exposed. With a plug base, they are all enclosed within the plug base enclosure to comply with regulations.

What should I expect from the electrician’s quote?
