Alarm Sensors
There are so many types of sensors, for many different uses in the office, school and factory. Lots of office and school rooms make great use of motion sensors that know the difference between day and light, and can pick out a person moving around when they shouldn't be. There are some very handy applications in the factory too, aiding safety and efficiency. One example is a sensor that sets off an alarm when objects are detected too close in range to other equipment or areas where people are working.
It's important to have your sensors put in by a licensed electrician. As safety and security measures, sensors are relied upon and you can't risk faulty workmanship or a late contractor if you're waiting on an installation. Give the Snapper Group team a call for a chat about sensors that will help you deal with the difficult situations.
We can help with other factory needs, like safety switches and meter panels, or if you're looking at office electrical solutions take a look at our fluorescent lighting and feature lights.
How can I tell if the electrician is licensed?
For almost all electrical work, it is illegal to have work done by electricians that aren’t licensed. You should ask to see their licence and indemnity insurance policy, which all practicing electricians should have. This covers you if their work causes damage. If you have any doubts, call your state’s Fair Trading department or visit their website to check they are valid.

What standards can I expect from the electrician?
The very least that a customer can expect from their electrician is that they are safe and have carried out their work in accordance with electrical standards. But you should ask for more.
The first important thing is that you feel comfortable with the electrician and/or their business. They should answer all of your questions politely and respectfully. They should also give you a firm start date and estimate of how long it will take.
If for any reason they have to do additional work, on top of the original quote, they must tell you before it happens and how much more it will be. If you have a problem or are unhappy with how they’re working or what they’re doing, feel free to speak up and talk to them – remember you’re the boss. If you can’t resolve the problem, call Fair Trading in your state or territory. They can help.

Dodgy Wiring
Went to a client’s house today, we found that the last electrician that re-wired it years ago had done a dodgy job. He had put new wiring in and still in use was a lot of old wiring.
